Product Detail

Product Description
What are durian mochi made of?
Mochi (pronounced MOE-chee) is a Japanese dessert made of sweet glutinous rice flour, or mochigome. With a chewy, smooth, elastic texture, mochi dough is often tinted with green tea powder (matcha) or other food colorings and wrapped around a sweet center to form small, bite-size confections. In addition, they can also be served coated with durian flesh.
Is durian mochi healthy?
Mochi is a versatile, healthy snack commonly consumed as a part of the Japanese diet. From its very origins, it has been especially popular with rice farmers to increase their stamina and with Samurai for its ease of convenience. The most significant benefit of Mochi is the fact that it is convenient to carry, is incredibly filling, and you only need a small matchbox-sized portion to replace an entire bowl of rice. Mochi is also extremely healthy as it is one of the few carbohydrate sources that is packed with protein and is gluten and cholesterol-free.
